YCCS Membership

The York County Choral Society, the premier choral group in the York County area, has begun its 32nd Season of presenting major choral works for the residents of York County and the surrounding area.

The Society has also sung in many regional, national and international venues including the Spoletto Festival in Charleston, the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, and on tour in the United Kingdom. The Society has a dynamic new Artistic Director, Dr. Katherine Kinsey. She is the Director of Choral Activities at Winthrop University, and under her leadership we have grown to 80 singers ranging in age from high school through retirement. Exciting music, exciting sound, exciting time!

The 2012-2013 Season begins December 9th with In Dulci Jubilo: A Mosaic of Choral Masterworks and Contemporary Classics to Celebrate the Holiday Season. The concert will take place at 4 P.M. in Byrnes Auditorium on the Winthrop University campus. Our spring concert featuring music by Felix Mendelssohn, J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms and Zoltan Kodaly will be April 14 at Westminster Presbyterian Church and a part of the Rock Hill Come-See-Me Festival.

Upcoming programs in 2013-2014 promise to be equally thrilling as we welcome a collaborative concert with the Winthrop University Chorale and Chamber Singers in Spring 2014. Consult the York County Choral Society News section for information on of these powerfully exciting concerts and their featured repertoire.

A special area in the concert hall is reserved for holders of Free Patron Tickets and any additional tickets you purchase.

Free Patron Tickets may be used at either the December, 2012 or April, 2013 concerts.

Patron gifts received before November 15, 2012 will be acknowledged in the annual concert program unless you request otherwise.

Contributions over the value of Free Patron Tickets received are tax deductible. Your gift will be documented with a letter of receipt.

We have 5 different categories of patron support. Patrons receive concert tickets for use at Fall or Spring Concerts.

The York County Choral Society receives no government funds. It is an independent 501(c) 3 tax exempt organization governed by a Board of Directors elected from the singers.
